The final voter list for Gujarat was officially released on February 17, 2026. This comes after a detailed Special Intensive Revision process carried out across the state. Big Changes Reported in Surat and Other Districts
Surat district recorded the highest number of deletions in Gujarat. A total of 85,734 entries were removed from the voter list in Surat alone. Ahmedabad followed with 47,627 names removed. Even with these deletions, Surat also added a large number of new voters. Around 101,578 new names were added during the revision process. Across Gujarat, the total number of registered voters has now reached 44,030,725, which is about 4.40 crore voters. This means a net increase of roughly 5.60 lakh voters compared to the earlier draft list.
Removal of ASD Category Names
A major part of the revision focused on cleaning the ASD category. This includes:
- Absent voters
- Shifted residents
- Deceased persons
During the final verification stage, more than 3.95 lakh names from this category were removed across Gujarat. This step helps keep the voter list correct and up to date.
Verification Work Done by BLO Officers
To ensure accuracy, the entire process was supported by:
- Digitisation of enumeration forms
- Door to door checking by 50,963 Booth Level Officers
Officials said this large scale verification helped improve transparency and reliability in the voter database.
