Residents in parts of Surat may face water supply issues today, February 19, 2026, due to scheduled maintenance work by the Surat Municipal Corporation. The disruption mainly affects areas in the South West Athwa zone, where technical work is being carried out at a key distribution point.
Reason Behind the Water Cut
The temporary disruption is happening because of essential valve replacement work at the Althan Water Distribution Station. This maintenance is necessary to keep the water supply system working properly and to avoid bigger problems in the future.
Areas Likely to Be Affected
Several localities are expected to experience low pressure or no water supply during different times of the day. The main affected areas include Vesu, Magdalla, Dumas, and Bhimrad.
Supply Impact by Station
Vesu 1 Station: Morning water supply was disturbed in nearby places such as G.D. Goenka Canal Road, Ratnaraj, and Royal Paradise. Afternoon and evening water cuts may continue in parts of Vesu Gamtal, Someshwar Circle, Krishnadham, and Siddhi Row House.
Vesu 2 Station: Some locations could face full day disruption, including Suman Sagar, L&T Bachelor Hostel, Nandini 3, and ONGC Phase 2.
When Will Supply Return?
Normal water supply is expected to start again gradually later tonight once the maintenance and technical checks are completed.
What Residents Should Do
People living in the affected areas are advised to store enough water for daily use and avoid unnecessary wastage until supply becomes normal. For complaints or updates related to water supply, residents can use the SMC complaint system or the official mobile application provided by the civic body.
